Sinus symptoms can be incredibly tiresome and interfere with your daily life. You have probably tried to address this issue and found a few tricks that might alleviate some of your symptoms. If you are looking for more effective survival tips, however, we have compiled a list of some that can help relieve that stuffy, perpetually foggy feeling that comes with having sinus issues.

1.Hydrate: Limit your intake of dehydrating drinks, such as caffeine and alcohol, and consume more water. For every pound you way, drink at least half an ounce of water.

2.Change your diet: Certain foods produce more mucus than others. Foods you should eat less of or eliminate from your diet include dairy products, wheat, bananas, sugar, peanuts, and fatty foods. Foods you should incorporate into your diet to thin and dry out mucus include lemons, limes, fruit, celery, cucumbers, onions, garlic, cinnamon, mustard, and other fermented foods.

3.Clean up your air: If you smoke, quitting will greatly improve your sinus health. Avoid using air fresheners and use only non-toxic cleaning supplies. You might also want to consider getting an air purifier or ionizer to kill mold spores and placing a plant in each room. Plants are great air cleaners and will improve the air in your home or work space.

4.Take your vitamin C: Vitamin C is a natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant that strengthens the immune system. Take it three times daily (about 6,000 to 12,000 mg total in divided doses for five days if you have a sinus infection, or 3,000 to 6,000 mg daily).

5.Nasal Irrigation: Using a netipot or nasal irrigator is a top suggestion for those who suffer from sinus problems.

6.Exercise: Exercise is not only helpful for your overall health, but for your sinuses as well. Try out some outdoor aerobic exercises, or take it indoors if the air is too polluted. If you have a sinus infection, moderate walking is helpful.
