New York Giants' Rashad Jennings Joins the Fight Against Asthma!

May is recognized as National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month! To bring awareness to such crucial topics, Rashad Jennings, a football player for the New York Giants has invited every individual to watch and share videos regarding his personal struggle with asthma, his experiences as a child growing up with asthma, and how persons can exercise safely with asthma. These videos can be found on this page.

The video playbook includes information on the following:

  • How Rashad grew up with asthma but was able to accomplish his goals
  • An announcement from children about what it feels like to live with asthma
  • How individuals can safely exercise with asthma

Rashad Jennings’ Life with Asthma

At the age of 9 years old, Jennings was diagnosed with asthma. At the age of 10, he was hospitalized for the first time. Because he has had this disease from a young age, he understands the struggles many asthmatic children face on a day-to-day basis. As a result, he began the Rashad Jennings Foundation, which he uses to empower children to achieve their goals and dreams regardless of their diagnosis.

When interviewed, Jennings stated, “I still see myself as that asthmatic kid who was told he would never be able to play sports. Through #TackleAsthma, I’ve had a chance to connect with kids who have asthma to show them that I’m just like them. I want kids to understand that you can live with asthma, you can overcome asthma, and you can tackle asthma like I did.”
